System Architect Thomas

Thomas joined Sioux as a System Architect in 2023. Before that, he completed a PhD in particle physics, conducted research at CERN, and taught at the University of Cape Town.

At Sioux, he works on complex high-tech projects, connecting specialists and bringing their expertise together in one clear system.

Different technologies, real depth
The variety of technology was one of the reasons Thomas chose Sioux. Instead of specializing in one application for many years, he can move between different technologies, projects, and customer challenges. Each new challenge offers the opportunity to explore a different field, while still going deep enough to fully understand it.

Thomas: ‘What excites me the most is that I work in very different areas but still have to go deep to understand the challenge. That offers me great learning opportunities. Bringing that knowledge together into the project makes the work very rewarding.

What also makes the work so interesting to me is that many projects involve questions that have not been answered before. That means the team has to explore what is technically possible, learn from one another, and develop new solutions together. Seeing all those disciplines come together in one concept or product is very rewarding.’

Finding solutions together

For Thomas, it is not only the technical variety that makes Sioux an interesting place to work. The focus is not on who has the answer, but on understanding the problem and finding the best solution as a team.
